Another Victorian Ceiling Project

If you look over some of the older post you will notice that I have claimed not to start another ceiling paint project EVER again.  Well, I have changed my mind (or rather was "convinced" to change my mind by my dear husband).

This time I promise to take better photos and post my step-by-step Victorian ceiling painting process.

This project is happening in my office - which makes it quite hard.  I have to work around my desk and computers, but I will do my best to complete it in just a few weekends.  Wish me luck!

Molding installed, first layer of paint goes on.

First layer is finished - cutting in lines is not as hard as it looks!

I decided to add a second color for more visual interest.  Also started on the gold lines - there is much more to come.

The Reason for no progress......

Had to take a break. Had to get rid of some back pain and do some of this......

Siding continued.....

Gable torn off. Made all the gable cove shakes. Need to Reconstruct the window and mantel. Found couple empty voids in insulation. Need to clean the stain glass windows and install the new storm windows to protect them.

TGI the Last Gable

I'm on the last side and on my last wits! The tear off is always the easiest part! Once again my scaffolding does not reach the peak.

Lion casting

Here are some photos of the lion castings that we finally put on the house. Feel free to let us know what you think!

Our victorian

Burt took this photo one early morning.  Things are looking better - I cannot wait for the railing to be done!
