Our Exterior Renovation Update

This past weekend we were able to make a significant progress on the house!  The siding on the North side was removed and we finished painting on the street side.  Installing the siding and replacing the gable are next on our "to do" list.

Here is an updated view. (I am still casting the remaining swags and we are waiting for the 1st floor master copy onlay to arrive).

And here is a new shot of the front of the house (still missing the 2nd floor railing and new brick paint).

  1. You’re doing a great job on your ongoing renovation! Based on the photos you provided, the house looks like it was recently built. The gable decoration is so beautiful that you can’t help but stare at it for a long time. It’s one of those houses that look good from any angle.

  2. From what I can see, the house is turning out to be pretty good! Installing wall sidings and vinyl is a tricky task. Part of the dilemma is that vinyl changes size depending on the temperature. The material tends to get shorter on a very cold day as compared to hot ones. So the vinyl must be cut short and nailed loose. Just putting my two cents on the table. :D Hope it all works well!

    1. Danielle,
We are not using vinyl siding. It's LP Smart Side.

  3. So how was this home as of now? The new brick paint seems to be more suitable for the home's overall exterior. It gave a lighter complexion that brightens the home's exterior mood. :)

  4. Thanks Sharron,
I agree that painting the brick was the right choice. You can see the current color under this link http://victorianhomerestoration.com/ We painted it creme vs. white that is in the above photo.

  6. Great job with the renovations! The house looks excellent! By the way, are those shingles on the roof? If they are, it will be best to keep an eye on them, and make immediate necessary repairs whenever some gets loosened up.
